
One held for stealing Rs 23 lakh from friend’s home

GUNTUR: The urban police arrested a person for stealing Rs 23 lakh cash from his friend’s home at Arundelpet here. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Guntur Urban SP Ch Vijaya Rao said P Raja Rao is a retired government employee and is residing at 17th lane in Arundelpet.
He owns a farmland near Manasa Sarovaram near the bypass road. He developed friendship with one Kalisetty Mohana Rao, who is running a brick industry near Manasa Sarovaram.
Raja Rao’s second son Dinesh, who is working in USA, wanted to purchase a plot in Hyderabad, on the advice of his uncle Sivaji. Dinesh asked his father to arrange money for the same.Raja Rao kept the money in the almirah and asked his friend Mohan Rao to convert the small currency into big otes. Mohan Rao using his influence converted all the small notes into big ones.When Raja Rao went to his farmland on March 27, Mohan Rao gained entry into the former’s home and stole the cash.
