Man surrenders to police after hit-and-run left boy critically injured

A man turned himself into police on Saturday after he hit a boy riding a bicycle and fled the scene in Friendswood.

Kevin Caldwell surrendered to police after he failed to help when he hit the 6-year-old.

The child was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police say the boy was riding his bike when he was run over on Woodland Trail Saturday afternoon.

Caldwell's bond has been set at $100,000.
