In Uttar Pradesh, 48 were criminals killed in cross firing in 1450 operations against criminals in past one year, said Director General of Police O P Singh today.

Mr Singh said in Saharanpur that 3334 criminals were arrested, 48 were gunned down in which reward of Rs 5000 to Rs 1 lakh was announced on 2000 criminals. He said, 6868 convicted surrendered in court after cancelling their bail which indicated improving law and order condition in state.

UP DGP said that women battalion will be action in state very soon and it will work like para-military force.
