It’s an exciting time to be a young garden designer. The market is buoyant: there are plenty of home owners who want stylish outdoor rooms to complement their revamped interiors and are prepared to pay decent money for them. But the ­attractions of this career – creativity, working with plants, running your own business, building relationships with clients – also mean that there is plenty of competition. So how can ­aspiring young designers make their mark? And where do they want to take garden design?
