Fishermen to get 75 percent subsidy to buy bikes, three-wheelers: Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav

Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav | EPS

HYDERABAD: The State government will provide 75 per cent subsidy to purchase two-wheelers and three-wheelers to fishermen, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav told Express here on Saturday.  He said that the State government had so far provided 51 crore fish seedlings at an estimated cost of `42 crore and released them into 11,607 minor irrigation tanks across the State. This had benefited 4,000 fisheries cooperative societies involving 24 lakh fishermen, mostly Gangaputras and Mudiraj castes.

Now, these beneficiaries will also get two-wheelers and three-wheelers on subsidy to sell their produce. In addition to this, nets and crafts would be supplied to the fishermen on subsidy. The state will spend `82 crore for thisFree fodder for sheepThe Animal Husbandry Department will also launch free distribution of fodder to the shepherds, who got sheep from the State government. Each sheep unit would get four bags of fodder free of cost from Sunday and it would be helpful for the shepherds to feed the sheep for two months.
