Policeman’s timely act saves one-and-a-half-year-old boy near Kalamassery railway track

KOCHI: The informer whose intervention helped the rescue of a one-and-a-half-year-old boy who was found wandering near the railway track in Kalamassery on Friday night is a police officer. Civil Police Officer with KAP Camp-V, Thrissur, Anish Mon informed the Kalamassery police station when he spotted the child by the railway track while passing on a train near Kalamassery.

Following this, the police team rushed to the spot and rescued the child, Devanarayanan, who was found bleeding and walking along the tracks. While taking him to safety, the police officers came across the mother of the child who was looking for him along with the relatives and local residents. The kid’s mother is a Railway employee who was transferred to Kalamassery railway station recently.

Soon after the incident, all were asking about who was the informer and the police traced the person by night itself. The timely intervention of the police officer saved the life of a toddler and his act received applause from the local residents.S I Prasannan, civil police officers Niyas and Anil with the Kalamassery police station rushed to the spot immediately and rescued the toddler. The civil police officer Anish on Saturday visited the residence of the kid after coming to know about him through media reports. He visited Kalamassery CI M Jayakrishnan too.
