Andaman unhappy with CBSE re-exam; MP Bishnu Pada Ray writes to HRD Ministry

PORT BLAIR: Hundreds of students of class XII and their parents of remote Andaman and Nicobar Islands, today met the lone Member of Parliament of Andaman and demanded his intervention in the matter of re-conducting exams of Economics after the class XII Economics CBSE exam papers were leaked recently. 

Parents demanded that if necessary, re-exam may be conducted only for students of Delhi region only,  as the question paper was leaked out in Delhi region. “CBSE Students of Andaman and Chennai region has nothing to do with the leakage. Why we are punished for the crime committed by others,” said a student of Port Blair. 

The parents also wrote letters to the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and urged support from Administration in this regard. 

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bishnu Pada Ray today assured the parents to take up this matter to the Minister of HRD, Prakash Javdekar personally on 2nd May in this regard. The MP has already written a letter to the Minister of HRD and demanded exemption of re-exam of CBSE economic subject.

“Students of Andaman and Nicobar have already planned for various coaching and entrance test at Mainland India. Many students have already left Andaman and Nicobar Islands for the same and conducting re-exam on 25 April will disturb the schedule and cause heavy financial loss to all students,” the MP said in his letter to Minister HRD.

Meanwhile, hundreds of parents and students have sat on peaceful dharna at Tirana Park Port Blair to press their demands.
