Sasikala back in prison before end of parole

V.K. Sasikala, a close aide of Jayalalitha, serving a prison sentence in Bengaluru, returned to prison on Saturday, four days before her 15-day parole was to end.

Somashekhar, jail superintendent, Central Prison, Parappana Agrahara, confirmed to The Hindu that Sasikala had returned to the jail on Saturday evening, but provided no explanation for her early arrival.

Sasikala was granted parole of 15 days on March 20 following the death of her husband M. Natarajan. She was staying at Arulananda Nagar house in Thanjavur during the parole period and left for the prison as Natarajan’s obsequies were completed on Friday, sources said.
