Meghan Markle and Prince Harry wedding: Everything we know so far

Meghan Markle, 36, will officially join the royal family when she marries Prince Harry, 33, on 19 May 2018 at Windsor Castle.

Prince Harry and Meghan are inviting 2,640 members of the public to the grounds of Windsor Castle to be a part of their special day.

In March, Kensington Palace revealed: “Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have said they want their Wedding Day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too. This wedding, like all weddings, will be a moment of fun and joy that will reflect the characters and values of the Bride and Groom.”

Well-wishers will see the arrival of the bride and groom at St George’s Chapel for their 12pm ceremony and then watch the newly-wed couple in a traditional carriage procession.

The procession will leave the Chapel, in Windsor Castle at 1pm and follow a short route along the High Street returning to the castle along the Long Walk.

A reception will be held at St George’s Hall, followed by a private evening reception hosted by the Prince of Wales for the couple and their close friends and family.

Fifth in line to the British throne, Prince Harry required official consent from his grandmother the Queen to marry his American fiancé.

The Queen released her formal statement on 15 March consenting to the marriage: "I declare My Consent to a Contract of Matrimony between My Most Dearly Beloved Grandson Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales and Rachel Meghan Markle”

Harry and Meghan will receive a new titles once they are married which are believed to be the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
