Our viewers would like to know more about CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst). So, what does the CFA institute do?
Vidhu Shekhar: We are a global, not for profit membership organisation. We have around 1,50,000 members all over the world, of which about 2,300 are in India. Our members typically are securities analysts, portfolio managers, wealth advisors, performance specialists, researchers and so on and so forth. Anybody who is involved in investment decision making has to take the CFA examination and should have enough investment decision making experience before being accepted as a member of this organisation.
How do you see growth of CFA in India?
Vidhu Shekhar: We are seeing very strong demand for our CFA programme which has an examination. We have now about 23,000 students. Candidates are taking these examinations every year, many of whom are existing industry practitioners. They are working with companies doing this kind of work. But many of whom are also students or aspiring entrants to the industry.
