The second Gurgaon
Kala Utsav began in style at Sector 29's open-air amphiteatre on Saturday. Organised by Ashray and Nritya Dhara, and supported by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, the Kala Utsav marks the culmination of month-long cultural activities hosted in the city by the MCG.
The first day of the two-day fest saw competitions in dance,
drama, and painting for hundreds of school students. This was followed by a cultural evening that had performances by noted classical exponents in
Bharatnatyam,
Odissi, and
Kuchipudi. Painter Hari Singh also made a live painting on the spot, while an Odisha based dance group performed a folk dance style from the state.
