Lakeland Community College has its next job fair slated for April 4.
The school’s Part-Time & Seasonal Job Fair has a roster of 32 employers expected to be on hand, ranging from restaurants and retailers to manufacturers, metroparks and even a casino.
“This is a great way to meet many employers in one day to discuss current job openings, ask about future opportunities and obtain career and company information,” states a news release about the event on Lakeland’s website.
Lakeland’s Career Services Center offers this job fair twice each year, the last having taken place in September.
Career Services Director Nancy White in a News-Herald article previewing that event that said these job fairs are a great way for job seekers to meet with an array of prospective employers all in one place.
“(Attendees) can expect a wide variety of opportunities,” White said. “There are a range of employers, including representatives from healthcare, social services, retail, restaurant and hospitality and other areas.”
For those who have not yet attended a similar event and may not be sure if they should, White said go for it.
“We always tell people to come,” she said. “Even if the specific jobs being offered don’t appeal to them, they should just go to network. They could still get the word in to a company or possibly even get a contact name. So that networking value is definitely there.”
Some of the employers expected to be in attendance April 4 include Panera Bread, Bed Bath & Beyond, Fastenall Co., Lake Metroparks and Jack Thistledown Racino.
Additionally, the Career Services Center is offering walk-in resume help on April 3 in room A-1039 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The Part-Time & Seasonal Job Fair is scheduled April 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the bookstore hallway in A Building.
