North Korea says, it will send teams to the Tokyo and Beijing Olympics. This was stated by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach after his meeting with North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un in Pyongyang yesterday to discuss North Korea's participation in the coming Olympics.
He said North Korea announced that they will participate in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 as well at the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 and all editions of the Youth Olympic Games. Bach, said the IOC will make a proposal for a potential joint march and other shared activities between the North and South Korean teams at the 2020 Games in Japan.
North Korea's ruling party newspaper, the Rodong Sinmun said Kim expressed his appreciation for the IOC's role in easing tensions in inter-Korean relations through the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, which took place in South Korea last month.
