Ex-RJ murder: police issue lookout notice

Rule out possibility of the gang leaving the country

Intensifying the search for the assailants in the Rajesh aka Rasikan Rajesh murder case at Madavoor near here, the police have issued a lookout notice at all transit points, including airports and railway stations across the country.

The police ruled out the possibility of the gang attempting to flee the country. While there were claims that the gang was suspected of making attempts to fly from Mumbai, the police are yet to confirm such reports.

Meanwhile, the police extended the scope of the search to other parts of the country, including Chennai and Bengaluru. It had been ascertained that the gang had managed to flee from Kerala after abandoning their red car near Adoor. The forensic examination of the vehicle is under way.

Sources said the car had been hired from a rental firm by one Aneesh of Kayamkulam, who later, handed it over to another person, before it reached the ‘quotation gang.’ Around 10 people had been questioned in connection with the case. The information divulged by some of them is believed to have provided the investigation team with crucial leads in the probe.

Rajesh, a former radio jockey (RJ), had been brutally hacked to death by the gang, suspected to have four members, in his recording studio. His friend, Kuttan, who was also attacked, managed to flee from the scene and alerted one of his friends after running a long distance. CCTV visuals strengthened the information provided by Kuttan as they showed the red car, purportedly used by the gang, to have passed by the area around the same time as that of the crime.
