Colin Trevorrow set to helm 'Jurassic World 3'

will be back to direct the third installment of the 'Jurassic World' franchise.

Trevorrow, who directed and co-wrote the first 'Jurassic World' in 2015, is currently working with 'Pacific Rim: Uprising' scribe

"It's important to this franchise that we welcome new creative voices to keep our storytelling fresh and alive," the 41-year-old told Weekly.

"I'm thrilled with the tension and beauty J.A. has brought to Fallen Kingdom, and I know Emily will add another layer of emotion to the concluding chapter of our trilogy."

The franchise's second film, 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,' stars and and is set to hit the big screens in June.
