Sickening odor compels American Airlines flight to return to Phoenix

American AirlinesA flight of American Airlines travelling to Baltimore from Phoenix was compelled to return a short while after take-off on Friday morning after a noxious odor spread throughout the airplane and it sickened two flight attendants.

 

Paramedics were on standby to treat the passengers and crew members at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix.

 

As per one of the local media channels, passengers on board flight 1100 started complaining of a burnt rubber smell, and crew members started feeling nauseous and dizzy.

 

The Phoenix Fire Department reported that the odor went away after its take off but the flight then returned since it was eager to exercise some caution.

 

This flight was back at the airport around .45 a.m. on Friday.

 

The airplane was slated to arrive at BWI around 4.05 p.m. as per BWI’s flight tracker, the airplane would be landing instead at 7.07 p.m. on Friday. The two flight attendants who were not feeling well thereafter had to be evacuated and found to have stable signs as per another leading media platform that had reported that the 146 passengers and crew members were placed on an alternative plane.

 

Back in Baltimore there was quite a smell of burning.

 

Firefighters around BWI were conducting a live fire training drill on Friday morning.
