Policeman injured in J&K militant attack

A special police officer was injured when militants fired at him in south Kashmir's Anantnag on Saturday morning.

A police official said the SPO, Turag Singh sustained critical wounds when the militants attacked him from a close range at Khanbal. "The policeman was regulating traffic when he was fired upon by the gunmen," said the police official.

The attack comes just two days after the militants killed SPO Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh and injured his wife inside his house at Katsoo in Bijbehara, Anantnag. A hunt has been launched to nab the attackers.
