Dubuque woman arrested in connection with Solon burglary

SOLON — A Dubuque woman faces prison time in connection with a Solon burglary.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, at 1 p.m. on Nov. 25, 2017, 24-year-old Danielle M. Kruser entered a home in the 3200 block of Mohawk Road NE despite not having permission to be there. Authorities said Kruser stole items from the home, including at AR-15 rifle and a 9 mm handgun.

The sheriff’s office said that during a recorded phone call, Kruser admitted to taking items and told the victim she would return the firearms, but she wanted to be paid to give him his property back.

The stolen property — valued at $39,500 — has been returned to the property owner. Kruser, who authorities said initially refused to turn herself in, was booked at the Johnson County Jail Thursday afternoon. She faces charges of first-degree theft and trafficking in stolen weapons, both Class C felonies; and third-degree burglary, a Class D felony. If convicted of all three offenses, Kruser would face up to 25 years in prison.
