Q We have a staircase that is about 20 years old, which was already installed when we bought our house.
Having recently improved the loft area, where the stairs go up to, the treads creak very badly. We are loathe to carpet this area again until we have a solution. We were told that we could add a quadrant beading to the treads, but this did not make any difference. Do you have any suggestions that could help us?
