Bettie Studds Hoover, 80, of 1816 Sunset Drive, Altavista died Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Gretna Health & Rehab. She was the wife of the late Donald Aubrey Hoover.

She was born on October 30, 1937, in Alexandria a daughter of the late Edith Didszoneit Studds. She was a member of St. Victoria’s Catholic Church and a retired employee of First National Bank. Bettie enjoyed being involved and volunteering in many things including the Red Hat Society, DAWN, the Bloodmobile, the Altavista Chamber of Commerce, YMCA water aerobics, Sew Sisters, St. Victoria’s Women’s Guild, playing bridge and quilting.

She is survived by three sons, Phil Hoover and his wife, Tess of Altavista, Larry Hoover and his wife, Leslie of Altavista, and Mike Hoover and his wife, Tammy of Lake Manassas; two daughters, Donna Elliott and her husband, Bryan of Forest and Annalee Bondurant and her husband, George of Lynchburg; 16 grandchildren, Justin (Rebecca), Mary (Alejandro), Ashley (Josh), Adam (Bonnie), Kathleen, Bobby (Erika), Chase (Stephanie), Donnie (Alyssa), Britt, Pat (Ana), Andrew (Libby) Courtney, Jacob (Jess), Danielle, Jordan, and Grace; one great grandson, Elston Lee, and many close friends.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, April 2, 2018, at St. Victoria’s Catholic Church, Hurt by Father James Gallagher with interment to follow in Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista and other times at the residence.
