Gur steady in Delhi, declines in Muradnagar

(jaggery) prices settled quiet at the wholesale market in the national capital today due to the absence of necessary buying support amid comfortable stocks.

On the other hand, Muradnagar markets showed a fall of Rs 100 per quintal on paucity of demand.

Marketmen said sluggish demand and ample stocks pulled down prices especially in Muradnagar.

In Muradnagar, dhayya prices dropped by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 2,100-2,150 per quintal.

Pedi prices also fell by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,075-2,150 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

chakku Rs 2,500-2,600, pedi Rs 2,500-2,600, dhayya Rs 2,700-2,800 and shakkar Rs 2,900-3,000.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,000-2,100, chakku Rs 2,200-2,450, khurpa Rs 2,075-2,150 and Ladoo Rs 2,250- 2,350.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,075-2,150 and dhayya Rs 2,100-2,150.
