Harassed by teachers, boy ends life

KANPUR: A class XIth student of a private school Sagar Yadav committed suicide by jumping in front of a train after being allegedly harassed by teachers in Etawah district on Wednesday.


Investigators told TOI that Sagar’s parents claimed that their son was being harassed by teachers to compel him to take private tuitions. Teachers also threatened the boy to fail him in coming examinations if he does not take tuition. “We are investigating the exact reason behind the suicide. The boy had allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train. Action will be taken against the guilty,” said additional SP, Jitendra Srivastava.



The management of a private school meanwhile has suspended both the teachers following allegations by the boy’s parents. The boy’s parents, on Thursday, also staged a massive protest in front of the school in Friends colony police station area.
