Love (concussion) listed as questionable for Cavs
Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star forward Kevin Love, currently in the concussion protocol, will be evaluated before Friday night's home game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Love was listed as questionable on the injury report and already missed Wednesday's win over the Charlotte Hornets. He's expected to participate in shootaround and then a decision will be made based on how he feels at game-time.
Love took an inadvertent elbow to his face from Miami Heat center Jordan Mickey in the first quarter of Tuesday's loss and the blow loosened one of Love's front teeth.
During halftime, the team ruled Love out for the rest of the game due to the concussion-like symptoms he was displaying. It was Love's fifth game back with the Cavs after missing the previous 21 with a broken left hand.
Love is averaging 17.7 points and 9.2 rebounds for the Cavaliers, who reside in third place in the Eastern Conference with a 45-30 record. However, the Philadelphia 76ers and Indiana Pacers are just a half-game behind and only the top four seeds receive home-court advantage for the first round of the playoffs.
The Cavaliers also welcomed back sharpshooter Kyle Korver, who had been away from the team to attend his brother's funeral. Korver will sit out Friday with foot soreness.
