Cauvery issue: AIADMK to hold hunger strike in TN on April 2

In a bid to mount pressure on the Centre to set up the Management Board, the ruling AIADMK, which is facing heat on the matter from arch rival DMK, today announced that it would hold hunger strike across on April 2.

AIADMK Coordinator and O Panneerselvam made the announcement while attending a mass wedding function organised by the party here along with K Palaniswami.

Reacting to the ruling party's decision to hold a hunger strike over the issue, DMK Working M K said the has been "enacting drama" on the matter.

Pointing out that the six-week deadline given by the to set up the Management Board ended yesterday, Panneerselvam said, "The people of and the farmers are expecting an answer from the issue."
