Duo in Thane theft case held at Mapusa bus stand

MAPUSA: The Ulhasnagar Thane police with the assistance of Mapusa police arrested two accused who were involved in the theft of Rs 5.34 lakh at Ulhasnagar. The accused were arrested from the interstate bus stand at Mapusa.

Police said it received information on Friday from the Ulhasnagar police station informing about the two accused involved in a theft case at Thane and are now in Goa. Accordingly a police team from the Ulhasnagar police arrived in the state.

The police further said that on the intervening nights of March 26 and 27 the two alleged accused entered a store at Ulhasnagar and stole away cash of Rs 5.34 lakh. The Ulhasnagar police arrested the accused Abhilash Sadashiv who during interrogation said that his other accomplices have fled to Goa.

Under the supervision of DySP Serafin Dias and PI Tushar Lotlikar a team was formed and a search was undertaken. NT

After hectic efforts the police arrested Sachin Ambare, 22 and Sonu Kheralia, 27 both residents of Ulhasnagar Thane.

Police said that the duo has admitted their involvement in the crime and the custody of the accused was handed over to the police team fromĀ  Ulhasnagar.
