Employment seekers of all ages, experience levels and professions are encouraged to attend the Second Annual Western Lake County Job Fair.
The April 7 event, which is free and open to all Lake County residents looking for employment or seeking better employment, education and/or skills, takes place at North High School, 34041 Stevens Blvd., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair also is open to businesses that are in the market for employees.
In addition to searching out job opportunities in the area, prospective employees also can attend workshops in resume building, how to prepare for an interview and how to use social media effectively to help them improve their job search skills.
Job opportunities are available for those seeking full-time, part-time or summertime work.
“The Job Fair is a great opportunity for job seekers to cut through the barriers and meet directly with hiring managers, said event organizer and Eastlake City Councilman Michael Zuren said. “We also understand the effort and expense employers have in finding qualified candidates, so the job fair is designed to help our businesses find talented candidates quickly.
According to Zuren, the goal of the job fair is to provide opportunities for all levels of experience. Companies from retail, manufacturing, service, banking/finance and educational industries, along with local union representatives, all have been invited to participate and/or discuss apprenticeship programs.
“The Eastlake Economic Community Development Committee is constantly looking to support our businesses and improve the lives of residents in western Lake County,” Zuren said.
The event is sponsored by the Lake County Visitors Bureau.
