Four people, including two police officers, have been arrested for allegedly looting a marketing manager of a Mumbai based jewellery shop, police said today.
Some car borne men in police uniform had looted Rohit Jain in Sahibabad area on March 18, the police said.
Four police teams were deputed to solve the case. After a marathon exercise and more than a dozen raids in Delhi, Meerut, Bulandshahar, Noida and Ghaziabad, four robbers have been arrested, Prashant Kumar, additional director general of police (ADG) Meerut zone, said.
Two among the four robbers have been identified as assistant sub-inspectors (ASI) of the Delhi Police named Satyendra and Bram pal Singh. Two others accused were identified as Ravi and Shailendra Yadav.
Police has recovered 6 kg of gold ornaments from their possession, Kumar said, adding the state crime record bureau (SCRB) and district crime record bureau (DCRB) also helped the police during the investigation.
All the accused have been sent to jail, Kumar said, adding search for their accomplices is on.
