“Ministry of Power, through its office order dated 28 March 2018, has assigned the additional charge of the post of Director (Finance), NTPC to Kandikuppa Sreekant, Director (Finance), Power Grid Corporation India Ltd for a period of 6 months with effect from 19 March 2018, or till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is the earliest,” the company said in a statement.
Sreekant, 54, is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and holds a PGDM in Finance from Management Development Institute, Gurgaon. He has over 32 years of experience in the power sector in Finance & Accounting function including Long Term Financial Planning, Investment Appraisals, formulation of Capital Budgets, Resource Mobilization from domestic and international markets and Corporate Accounts, NTPC said.
The power ministry had in December last year suspended the then Director-Finance Kulamani Biswal after he was booked by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), along with two others, in a corruption case. The company had then assigned the additional charge of Director-Finance to Director-HR Saptarshi Roy.
