British tourism in Egypt to get boost this year

British tourism in EgyptAfter a significant drop off of in the incursion of British visitors to Egypt lately, international travel agencies have predicted a hopeful rush in tourists from the United Kingdom, mentioning that the booking number and flights has seen a major rise this year.

 
As per the recent statistics, Egypt welcomed 730,000 tourists in February of this year, a 35 percent rise in comparison to the same month in 2017.

 
As per the report released by the official statistics body, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), Egypt, Britons positioned sixth in the number of tourists coming to Egypt with at least 26,338 tourists arriving in January.

 
CAPMAS explained that the number of tourists who came to Egypt in January were around 712,342. Western European countries positioned first with a total of 220,719 tourists, almost 47.3 percent rise in comparison to January 2017.

 
A travel ban imposed by the UK on direct flights to well-known tourism resort Sharm El Sheikh following the downing of a Russian passenger plane over Sinai peninsula in October 2015, killing everyone on board.

 
While speaking to Al-Shorouk newspaper, Moudy Al-Shaer, an official at Blue Sky – Thomas Cook’s global agent in Egypt explained that as the German market is still positioned first in the tourist number visiting Hurghada and Marsa Alam, there are a rising number of British tourists visiting Hurghada.
