Video: LeBron James' Emphatic Oop That Ties Michael Jordan Record

LeBron James matched Michael Jordan’s streak of 866 consecutive double-digit scoring games on Wednesday night (March 28) as he led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a win over Charlotte Hornets.

The 33-year-old scored 41 points against the Hornets, aptly owned by Jordan, in a 118-105 win that sees the Cavaliers remain third in the Eastern Conference.

James had a celebration of his own as he tied Jordan’s record, and the 14-time All-Star claimed his ability to score 10 points in every game just “organically happens.”

“I can’t tell you how I’ve been able to do it,” he said, as quoted by USA Today. “Any time I’m mentioned with some of the greats, and arguably the greatest basketball player of all-time in [Jordan], it’s just another feat for me to be just appreciative and humbled by what I’m able to do.”

And James will have been proud of the basket that leveled the record. Take a look at the emphatic oop here:

James gave an insight into how he was able to achieve such a feat, suggesting his health and staying injury-free was part of it.

"I've stayed available, obviously," he said, as quoted by ESPN. "I haven't played every game, but for the most part I've played over 70 percent of my games throughout that journey, and just going out and just trying to be productive.”

But he wasn't the only one breaking records at the Time Warner Cable Arena. The game may have got away from the Hornets but Kemba Walker’s 11 points in the fourth saw him become the franchise’s leading career scorer, passing Dell Curry.

James congratulated an emotional Walker at midcourt and praised him after the game. “If you can be the all-time leading scorer in any franchise, that’s incredible,” he said.

“I definitely went over and just told him how incredible that was. Even though with the season that they’re having, when accomplishments happen throughout the season, you try not to take them for granted. I think it’s an incredible feat for him."
