HYDERABAD: An Indigo flight carrying seventy-seven people on board witnessed tense situation on Wednesday as the tyre of plane burst while landing at Hyderabad airport at night. The incident took place at around 11.25 pm. All travelers were safely rescued. As per the reports, the flight was going from Tirupati to Hyderabad.

Indigo Company stated, “Flight 6E 7117 operated by an ATR (aircraft) from Tirupati to Hyderabad suffered a tyre burst while landing at Hyderabad Airport. The 72 passengers and one infant and four crew members are safe.”

Soon after the incident, a fire-fighting group reached to the plane as watchful ground staff saw sparks when aircraft landed.  Several Flights at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport were rerouted to Bengaluru and Chennai.

In other incident, Indigo flight 6E-7204 on Wednesday skidded off the runway at the time of landing in Vijayawada. The flight was going from Bengaluru to Vijaywada.
