Become entrepreneurs, Naidu urges IIM students

Chief Minister N Chandrababu today advised business management students to become entrepreneurs instead of beingmere job- seekers.

"Now you are armed with a degree andMBA from an institute like IIM-Visakhapatnam. It is time to imagine,as imagination only will give you the wings for your career growth," he said in his address at the convocation of Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Visakhapatnam here.

He said earning money was only a by-product, the important thing was building a strong career that revolves around ethical values.

The appreciated IIM-Visakhapatnam for giving 25 per cent of the seats to girls.

"Women empowerment is the key to overall development of a country. The role reversal has setin. Earlier, women were dependent on men. Now, it's the other way round," he said.

He asked the to increase the percentage of seats for women to 50 in the coming years.

Earlier, the of IIM-VisakhapatnamHari S Bhartia said though this was the second batch that was passing out of the institute, it was the first batch to be awarded an MBA degree, after the Indian Institutes of Management Act, 2017, came into force.

He said in about three years, IIM-Visakhapatnam would have its own state-of-the-art campus at Gambheeram in the city.

Earlier, the awarded degrees to 43 of the total 45 students, in the presence of their parents.
