Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday came down on Ministers in-charge of districts, particularly Social Welfare Minister H. Anjaneya, and asked them to pull up their socks to ensure the party’s victory in the coming Assembly elections.

With several complaints from party workers and legislators in Chitradurga district, Mr. Siddaramaiah targetted Mr. Anjaneya for his “style of functioning” and taking “unilateral” decisions related to development works in the district.

Sources in the party said that the Chief Minister told Mr Anjaneya to listen to the party workers/leaders grievances and work together.

State Congress president G. Parameshwara and the Chief Minister chaired a meeting of all Congress district committee presidents and district in-charge Ministers and discussed the poll prospects.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Fisheries and Udupi in-charge Pramod Madhwaraj once again squashed rumours about joining the BJP. Housing Minister M. Krishnappa too ruled out quitting the party.
