Three hurt in compressor blast

All the three were mechanics and were repairing an AC unit

PUDUCHERRY

Three persons were injured in an explosion of an air-conditioner compressor at Dubraypet here on Wednesday.

According to the police, Prakash, 20, of Muthamizh Nagar and Palanivel, 24 of Vikravandi, mechanics in a private firm were repairing the air-conditioner compressor in the house of Devadass, 57, of Dubrayapet.

Roof damaged

There was a loud explosion and the duo sustained injuries in the incident.

In the impact of the blast, a portion of the asbestos roofing in the house fell down on Devadass’s wife Arokiamary.

On hearing a loud noise, local people rushed them to the Puducherry Government General Hospital.

The Odiansalai police are investigating.
