Tesla Inc. TSLA, +3.24% stock was down more than 3% in after-hours trading Thursday following reports that the car maker is voluntarily recalling 123,000 Model S cars due to a potential failure with the power-steering technology. The company sold 280,000 vehicles in 2017, but the recall is targeting cars made before April 2016. According to The Wall Street Journal, the recall involves bolts that can corrode in cold weather. Tesla told the Journal that the issue affects less than 0.02% of possible Model S cars. Tesla stock is down 15% this year, as the S&P 500 index SPX, +1.38% has fallen 2.6%, and just completed its worst month in seven years.
