Margaret glares through her spectacles as she holds forth on the UK's tortuous departure from the European Union.

"It's gone on and on and on, we thought we'd be out in six months but we're still in. Theresa May needs to bloomin' well put her foot down!" she seethes.

The 86-year-old, a lifelong Boston resident, said she voted for Brexit because her home had become unrecognisable.

It's a familiar story - in her words, “suddenly there were groups of men all over the place not speaking English, and what was worse was they didn’t have any manners.”

The referendum put this town on the map, with more than 75.6 per cent voting to quit the EU in a display of anti-establishment fury.
