IAAF ratifies Coleman's world record in the men's 60m

2018-03-28 18:40

Monaco - The IAAF has ratified the world record set by American sprinter Christian Coleman in the 60-metre dash.

The 22-year-old Coleman broke Maurice Greene's 20-year-old indoor world record by running 6.34 seconds in Albuquerque on February 18. Greene set the previous mark of 6.39 seconds in 1998, and equalled it in 2001.

Coleman, who won the 60 metres at the world indoors this month, had already ran faster than Greene in January but his time of 6.37 was not recognised because electronic blocks were not used.
