Input support scheme details explained

GoM briefed on State scheme

A Group of Ministers under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh convened a meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday to collect first hand information about the agriculture investment support scheme announced by the Telangana government, under which farmers are proposed to be given ₹4,000 per acre per season from the next kharif.

Principal Secretary (Agriculture) C. Parthasarathi briefed the GoM about the objective of the scheme, budget allocation for it, modalities for its implementation and also the financial implication on the State government. The GoM also comprised Union Minister for Finance, Agriculture, Defence, Shipping and Highways, Food and Civil Supplies, Railways and Rural Development.

Mr. Parthasarathi also submitted a copy of power point presentation and a detailed note on the scheme to Union Minister for Agriculture Radha Mohan Singh. Union Agriculture Secretary S.K. Pattanayak and additional secretaries Ashok Dalawai and Upma Chowdary were also present at the meeting

Along with Director of Telangana State Seed and Certification Organisation K. Keshavulu, Mr. Parthasarathi gave an overview on the scheme named as ‘Rythu Bandhu’ at the Home Minister’s office in the North Block.
