On May 19, princess-to-be Meghan Markle will get her happily ever after when she ties the knot with Prince Harry. But she has had to kiss a few frogs along the way—so to speak—before landing Prince Charming.
It's no secret that Harry, 33, was previously involved in two relatively high-profile relationships before meeting Markle. He dated Chelsy Davy, a lawyer and daughter to Zimbabwean safari farmer Charles Davy, off and on from 2004 to 2011. After that, he was tied to actress-model Cressida Bonas from 2012 to 2014.
Caroline Flack, a television presenter, said she briefly dated Harry in 2009. But their relationship ended the moment word of it got out.
Unlike Harry, his 36-year-old fiancée kept her dating history fairly under the radar. So who did Markle date before meeting Harry?
Trevor Engelson
Markle's upcoming marriage to Harry will not be the actress' first walk down the aisle. Before the prince, Markle was married to Hollywood producer Trevor Engelson. Unlike her relationship with Harry, Engleson and Markle's progressed slowly.
The pair met in 2004, and later became engaged in 2010. In 2011, their wedding was held at the Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. But the pair quietly split in 2013. In an awkward turn of events, Deadline reported in September that Engelson is producing a comedy show about a man whose wife leaves him for a British prince. Now where could that idea have come from...?

Rory McIlroy
While this relationship hasn't been confirmed by either party, professional golfer Rory McIlroy was rumored to be dating Markle. The pair were briefly linked during the summer of 2014: McIlroy helped Markle to complete an Ice Bucket Challenge, and they were spotted on a dinner outing.
The pair's rumored fling is said to be nothing more than a friendship, however.
Cory Vitiello
Right before Markle went on her first date with Harry in July 2016, she was dating Canadian chef and restaurateur Cory Vitiello. The pair began dating in 2014 but parted ways in May 2016.
The reason for their breakup is unknown. But Harry is said to have asked for the Suits alum's phone number shortly after Markle and Vitiello's split, according to The Telegraph.
