A 15-year-old girl, a Class X student, committed suicide after her father reprimanded her for not studying properly in Outer Delhi’s Mangolpuri village area on Saturday evening.
The girl left behind a suicide note in which she mentioned that she was fed up of being scolded by her father for not studying properly for the Board exams. “In the suicide note, the girl had mentioned that she is scared that she will not live as per the expectations of her father so she is ending her life and no one else is responsible,” said a senior police officer.
Police has started enquiry into the case at the Rohini South Police Station. Police said the girl took the extreme step while her mother was in the neighbouring house and her father was away at work.
A senior police officer said they received a PCR call from the mother of the victim who found that latter hanging from a ceiling fan.
