New Spy Photos Reveal More Details on Refreshed BMW 7 Series
The BMW 7 Series is getting an early facelift in order to stay competitive with the Audi A8 and Mercedes S-Class.
Spy photographers have caught a facelifted 7 Series prototype testing in Germany, revealing more details than the prototypes seen last year. The German automaker has opted to give the 7 Series a quick facelift with the introduction of the new A8 and updated S-Class models, which means the changes could be more significant than usual. It appears there will be updated front light clusters and a larger grille for a more dynamic appearance. It almost seems as if the X7 iPerformance Concept will serve as a bit of inspiration for the 7 Series facelift.
Since BMW started testing an autonomous 7 Series last year, expect the refreshed model to also benefit from new self-driving features.

Based on the camouflage on this prototype, changes will be reserved to the front and rear ends, leaving the sheet metal with no significant alterations. That means it’s likely the refresh will happen sooner or later, possibly by next year. Don’t expect any major changes under the hood, although a slight performance boost and better fuel economy are possible.
