Students not allowed to write exams

The reason was non-payment of fees

Students of a private school in south Bengaluru were not allowed to write examinations, reportedly as their parents had not paid the fees for their books for the coming academic year.

Several agitated parents staged a protest outside the school in J.P. Nagar demanding intervention of the management.

A parent, on condition of anonymity, said their child, who is in Standard V, was not allowed to write examinations. She said she had refused to pay the book fees as they were changing schools and admitting their child to another school. “Despite this, we will still be forced to pay the book fees of ₹2,000, which we refused to pay. Our son has already missed two examinations. We hope that the school will allow him to write the examination on Tuesday,” she said.

Education Department officials said that they had instructed school authorities to allow students to write the examination on Tuesday.
