Special rituals, including celestial wedding, performed at temples

Some of the temples in the city celebrated Sri Rama Navami on Monday by organising special rituals and kalyanotsavam.

Sri Sita Rama Kalayanam was performed at Police Barracks. DCP T. Ravi Kumar Murthy took part in the rituals performed to mark the occasion.

Kodanda Rama Swami temple, Chengalraopeta, and the Ramalayam located near Government Victoria Hospital conducted special puja and Kalyanotsavam.

Chairman of Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) M.T. Krishna Babu and his wife Padmavalli took part in ‘Sita Rama Kalyanotsavam’ organised by VPT at Port Kalyana Mandapam. Senior officers and employees of VPT also witnessed the celestial wedding.

Hundreds of devotees thronged Ramaalayam at Muralinagar to witness celestial wedding. A number of rituals’ including ‘laksha tulasi puja’ were performed at the temple on the occasion. Visakhapatnam range DIG Srikanth participated in ‘kalyanotsavam’.

‘Rama Taraka Yagna’ was performed at Waltair Club last evening. President of Hare Krishna Movement Nishkinchana Bhakta Dasa organised devotional programmes that concluded with ‘mangala arti’. More than 500 devotees took part in the festivities. Panakam and vada-pappu were distributed to the visitors.
