Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today launched a training programme to link Madrasa teachers with the mainstream education system.
Speaking on the occasion in New Delhi, Mr Naqvi said such training programmes will strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi's message to have - Quran in one hand and computer in other.
He said, his Ministry in collaboration with Jamia Millia Islamia University has organised a residential training programme for 40 Madrasa teachers.
Mr Naqvi distributed certificates after completion of training and said, these teachers will provide mainstream education in Science, Maths, Computer, Hindi and English.
He said, it is a matter of pleasure that more than 50 per cent of these teachers are women. He said, the objective of the programme was to instill teaching and communication skills in participants.
