Market Now: Sobha, Unitech boost Nifty Realty index

NEW DELHI: Gains in Sobha (up 7.65 per cent), Unitech (up 3.57 per cent) and Oberoi Realty (up 2.63 per cent) boosted Nifty Realty index during afternoon trade on Tuesday.
The Nifty Realty index was trading 0.64 per cent up at 298 around 1 pm (IST).
Shares of Delta Corp (up 1.98 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate (up 1.33 per cent) and Housing Development & Infrastructure (up 1.03 per cent) were also trading with gains of over 1 per cent in the index.
However, shares of Phoenix Mills (down 1.30 per cent), DLF (down 1.00 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects (down 0.90 per cent) and Godrej Properties (down 0.12 per cent) were incurring losses around that time.
Domestic equity markets were in the positive terrain on Tuesday, buoyed by buying across sectors amid firm global cues on reports of trade negotiations between the US and China, easing fears of a trade war.
Short-covering by speculators ahead of March F&O expiry, and an appreciating rupee against the dollar added to the upmove.
The NSE Nifty50 index was up 46 points at 10,177, while the BSE Sensex was up 124 points at 33,190.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.
Indian Oil Corporation, HPCL and State Bank of India surged over 3 per cent in the Nifty index.
The Nifty Realty index was trading 0.64 per cent up at 298 around 1 pm (IST).
