Power Rankings: Dragons still firing while Eels, Raiders flounder
St George Illawarra Dragons (Last Week: 1): Continue to go from strength to strength, putting a half-century on the Titans. They look the team to beat early on.
New Zealand Warriors (3): Three games, three wins for New Zealand – this one a particularly gutsy come-from-behind performance.
Melbourne Storm (5): Last week’s loss was just a blip for the reigning champs as they easily saw off the Cowboys in a grand final rematch.
Brisbane Broncos (6): A controversial win, but a win nonetheless for the Broncos who have put that round one flogging behind them.
Sydney Roosters (10): Big statement win for the Roosters, taking the undefeated Knights to school on Sunday.
Wests Tigers (2): Another impressive defensive showing from the Tigers, but you start to wonder where the points are going to come from.
Cronulla Sharks (9): Nice bounceback win after their derby loss a week ago – Flanagan’s men are off the mark for 2016.
Newcastle Knights (7): Came back down to earth with a thud as they were smashed by the Roosters on Sunday night.
Penrith Panthers (4): Gave the Bulldogs their first win of the year and now face a long period with Nathan Cleary on the sidelines.
North Queensland Cowboys (8): Two losses in a row now and they sorely need Michael Morgan to return.
South Sydney Rabbitohs (14): Souths weren’t as bad as their first two weeks suggested. They turned on the class here with a big win over Manly.
Canterbury Bankstown-Bulldogs (13): Got off the mark in style with a tough-fought win over Penrith.
Manly Sea Eagles (9): Only in rugby league can a team win by 50 one week, and lose by 30 the next.
Gold Coast Titans (12): Got completely blown away by the Dragons and that’s two heavy defeats in a row.
Canberra Raiders (15): We’re only three weeks into the season and already a 90-second YouTube compilation named ‘All Raiders Heartbreaking Moments in 2018 So Far’ exists. Ouch.
Parramatta Eels (16): Clearly second best against Cronulla and they remain winless. In their last five halves of footy, they’ve scored four points. It’s time to start being worried, Eels fans.
