Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Tuesday reached out to opposition leaders to end the continued stalemate in the House and she is likely to convene an all-party meet in this regard.
In the morning after the first adjournment of the Hosue, a delegation of leaders from Congress, TMC, YSR Congress, AIADMK, BJD and TRS met the Speaker over the issue.
Ms Mahajan also had a meeting with Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar and other BJP leaders to end the impasse.
Sources said, the Speaker is in continuous touch with leaders of different parties to restore normalcy and ensure smooth functioning of the Lok Sabha.
The stalemate between the government and the opposition over different issues including bank fraud case, special status to Andhra Pradesh and discussion on no-confidence motion, has forced repeated adjournments of Parliament paralysing its functioning for the 16th day today in the second leg of the Budget Session.
