Anish Wins Gold at Jr WC

New Delhi: National Champion Anish Bhanwala, won the Men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Gold at the ongoing International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Junior World Cup Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun in Sydney, Australia, getting the better of China's Zhipeng Cheng 29-27 in the 40-shot final. Anish, who had in January broken the world record in the event with a score of 37 in the National Trials (world records are not recognized in national trials), topped the qualification round before that by quite a distance; shooting 585 while second placed qualifier Jueming Zhang of China managed 579, a good six points behind.

Dhoni key to WC dreams: viru

Singapore: Former India opener Virender Sehwag feels that the men-in-blue can lift the 50-over World Cup title in England and Wales next year if the youngsters train under the guidance of the seasoned Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who was instrumental in getting the cup home in 2011. "As a youngster, I played my first World Cup 2003 with Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble and they were helping me out," Sehwag said during a panel discussion at the Global Indian International School (GIIS) here on Sunday. "These youngsters have a very good senior player like Dhoni who can teach and guide them on how to prepare themselves for the 2019 World Cup," he added.

‘McClenaghan is an asset for mi’

Mumbai: Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma feels that Mitchell McLenaghan will be an "asset" for the franchise in the upcoming 11th edition of Indian Premier League. "He (McClenaghan) is a great asset and he has been a performer for us. Due to some mishap during the IPL auction, we were not able to get him. But now we have got him and we are very excited to have him back. He has been a great performer for us," Rohit told media persons at a promotional event. "We have had success whenever he has performed for us and it will be good to have him back. We know his capability with the ball and I hope he repeats the same performances what he has done for us in the past," he added.

DD start online ticket sales

New delhi: Delhi Daredevils on Monday announced the commencement of online ticket sales, ranging from `750 to `17,500 from their ticketing partner Paytm, for the upcoming 11th season of the IPL. The retail counters will start their sales from April 4, as the Daredevils prepare to open their IPL 2018 campaign against RCB at the Ferozeshah Kotla here on April 21. "Kotla has been a key part of our story as DD. The 2018 season promises something similar for all our fans," Daredevils CEO Hemant Dua said in a statement.
