Alleged Chapel Street gunman arrested after fight
Three men have been arrested over a fight in Melbourne's inner-south in which one of the men was armed with a gun.
Police believe four men were involved in a fight on Chapel Street near Malvern Road in South Yarra, about 4.30am on Monday.
It is alleged one of the men was armed with a gun, but no one was injured.
Police pulled over a car at nearby Cecil Place shortly after the altercation, arresting three men.
A hand gun was found under the car during a search of the vehicle, a police spokeswoman said.
The exact circumstances of the altercation, and whether shots were fired, is not yet known.
Channel Nine reported that a major search was under way for the fourth man involved in the incident.
The trio are being interviewed.
Chapel Street was closed between Malvern and Simmons roads for about an hour and a half, causing heavy delays until about 7am.
