DIESEL car tax rates will be increasing in the UK from April 1st. Here’s how to check if you will be affected and a car’s specific CO2 emissions.
New diesel car tax rates will be introduced on April 1st, which will see some driver need to fork out more money to tax their car in the first year.
How to check your car’s CO2 emissions and car tax band
Before buying a new car drivers can check a car's CO2 emissions using this online calculator, which should determine how much tax your face paying.
Motorists buying new cars can also find out their vehicle's fuel economy, estimated annual fuel running costs and company car tax bands.

The new diesel car tax rated will only apply to new cars registered after April 1st, meaning if you own a diesel currently, then you will pay the old car tax rates.
